Prahjister 0 Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Attached are 2 logs one from hd and one from sd feed from HDHomerun. HDHR4-2US. Can someone look and confirm if it is because my server cant keep up. Running on Intel Z8300 everything work perffectly except HD Live TV and playback. Emby.zip
Luke 42085 Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 In the HD log, your server is just not transcoding fast enough, sorry. In the SD log, there's no obvious failure so you'll need to describe your issue in more detail. You might be interested in trying out the new beta server that has some live tv transcoding enhancements for Microsoft Edge, Chrome and Opera: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/blog/1/entry-296-new-emby-server-releases/ In terms of playing live tv, firefox is the least advanced browser by far. I would try the server beta, update your HD Homerun firmware, then try it out with Chrome or MS Edge.
Prahjister 0 Posted April 9, 2016 Author Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) Thanks for the quick reply...I had a feeling it wasnt a beefy enough processor. Are there any tweeks to help the server not have to work so hard? Or is it possible just to passthrough? Or even go direct? I just read the beta...looks like some of the questions are in the beta BTW sd was fine it was just for a point of reference Edited April 9, 2016 by Prahjister

Can I manually change ffmpeg settings to reduce quality? and how do i find out what keeping up...processor nand network? Edited April 9, 2016 by Prahjister
Luke 42085 Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 If you're on the beta then enough has changed that we need to start over and look at it from the beginning, so please see how to report a media playback issue. thanks!

I really don't think my z8300 is fast enough....i did some testing with a standalone transcoder and was able to tweak to real time transcoding with Intel quick sync but just barely I wouldn't be able to do anything else.......with that said in your opinion do you think my issues will be resolved if I get a HDTC-2US to replace my HDHR4-2US. It will be in h.264 already and only minor transcoding needed.... I am able to stream at least 2 streams from my library if they are already in h.264. My goal is 2 streams any combination tv, recorded, and library with my low power system. Here is my server http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-pc/pp_324847.html Edited April 10, 2016 by Prahjister
Luke 42085 Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Yes if you get one of those HDHR tuners that supporter h264 encoding, then yes, it will reduce the work that is required by Emby Server. Also, use another browser besides firefox if you want to maximize your chances of direct stream (pass-through). hopefully in the coming months it will catch up but for now it is a little behind.
