Jack Burton 98 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Just noticed a little bug in recommendations. Have cinema mode enabled, and trailers for "Angry Birds" and "Finding Dory" played before the movie. Now, in recommendations I've got "Because you watched Angry Birds you might like" and same for Finding Dory. Is it possible to exclude trailers from the recommended list?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 (edited) I thought there was a option for this but can't seem to find it. Edited April 6, 2016 by Happy2Play
ebr 16187 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I thought there was a option for this but can't seem to find it. The option is for the opposite situation - whether or not to include trailers in the actual recommendations. What he is reporting is undoubtedly a bug as we shouldn't treat playing a trailer as a seed for recommendations (I wouldn't think).
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I find it annoying that trailers are listed as recommended options as well. Would like to turn that off in addition to the above. 1

Happy2Play 9783 Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Change log shows "•Exclude trailers from suggestion categories" already pushed to stable (5913). 1
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) Emby Theater 2.1.8 and the latest beta build of the server: Interesting thing is that for all of the trailers, except Parkland, I have the movie in my library as well. Shouldn't it, at least, recommend the actual movie over a trailer? Can't get it to give suggestions based on a trailer alone. Most movies suggest that I watch their own trailer though. I will have to check but i think it is filtering duplicates based on imdb id, however that filtering might not be applying any preference relating to type, making it essentially random which one of the two gets used.

Don't know but I am assuming they don't share IDs. The trailers are added via the Trailer plugin, they don't physically exist on my drives anywhere that I can find.
nagetech 69 Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 Any update on this? is there a way to disable trailers from coming up as a suggested movie, especially when one actually has the movie? Thanks!
Happy2Play 9783 Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I haven't tested this, since I hid suggested movies via css, but there appears to be an option in the users config.xml "<IncludeTrailersInSuggestions>true</IncludeTrailersInSuggestions>". Emby-Server\config\users\"userid" 1
