eugelai 0 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 First of all, let me just say how impressed I am with Emby! I am having an issue however, with getting the media status to sync up between users and devices. Perhaps I'm just not understanding how it works or what I need to do to make it work. Here's my setup So I have 3 users, me, "KODI-PC" and "Kids". Only my user (me) is admin, and the only local user that has the Emby account connected with Emby Connect. The KODI-PC user is mainly for the HTPC upstairs in the TV room, and it has access to all the folders and media that I have mapped. I don't have Music, just Movies and TV Shows. It is a Win7 PC, running Kodi 16, with the Emby Kodi addon. The "Kids" user is logged into the basement TV, on a MyGica 1800e Android Box. This user only has access to my media that has only Kids Movies and Kids TV Shows. The media for these are in its own shares. Now, when I first started setting up Emby, I was using my personal user (the admin user), to test, to try out, and watch the media. I started going through the media, and marking things as watched, creating the collections, and marking those as watched, etc. So as I've read in other threads about this issue, I'm still not clear on how to resolve this....... How can I get the watched status to be consistent across all 3 users and on all 3 devices (server, htpc & android set top box)? I've tried setting Metadata>Nfo>Sync user watch data to nfo's for to the blank dropdown, but that didn't help. I've tried having the "KODI-PC" and "Kids" users connected to my Emby account via Emby Connect, but that didn't help either. Do I have to perform a full "local database refresh" in Kodi? Or a "manual sync" ? Any help or guidance with this would be appreciated!
bluemonkey07 590 Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 (edited) For a start why do you have a separate user for the HTPC? Why not just use your admin account?. in the emby for kodi addon settings you can permanently add other users to the session then anything watched on that device is marked as watched for all users added to that session. The android and web client do not currently take advantage of this feature but do you really want it to sync all users on all devices? Ie do you really want what ever your kids watch on the android device to sync with your admin account and visa versa? Edit: if you are talking about stuff you've are marked on your account and transferring that info across to your other users then I think you'll just have to do the same for each user, or maybe trakt could help Edited April 2, 2016 by Vidman
