stuck on preferances and search screen cant get back to home screen

Emby app on Roku TV is stuck in search,preference, select server,etc menu and does not want to go to the nicer home screen where you select libraries, etc

 

How do I get it unstuck? I even sign out, reconnect to server,etc and it can't display the home screen no matter what I do

The fact you arent seeing the "nicer home screen" means your user views arent loading for that user. This is rarely the rokus fault it is just a messenger. Have you tried restarting the server? Is your server underpowered and emby is scanning? This points to an issue with your server, or network.

The server is a quad core Intel i5 w 16 GB RAM. Hardly it being too old

 

And it used to not do this till 2 weeks ago

If you add the app from that url above, does it work on your roku?

If it all worked, it is due to the registry for the official roku app being corrupt. To fix it you need to delete every emby app you have on your roku (the blue neon app uses its own registry space so doesnt need deletion). This will force the registry space for the official emby app to clear. Now reget the emby apps back onto your roku and they should work.

 

If it didnt work, did your router assign devices new ips? Is the roku aware of the new server ip? You may need to alter the wireless settings in the roku system settings if over wifi.
