Delete Watched Prompt Per Library

I wasn't sure where to put this, but is it possible to be prompted to delete items after watching them but only for certain media.

I've like to do it for TVshows etc but not for movies. I'm mainly using Kodi on windows.

It is a good suggestion, and we're monitoring it for community feedback. Thanks.

I personally would love a delete option added to emby theater, i do delete things after watching them, and its annoying to have to do it from windows explorer etc after watching.

I think you guys are mistaking what this topic is actually asking for

Well to get a delete option per library you need a delete option

Guess you would have to specify a client since there is a delete option on the server.

A prompt to delete items after watching them might be useful for some, but please don't make this compulsory, some of us never delete anything

A delete option after watching is more than great. My media library that I add to Emby is completely separate from my main media. I have a HTPC folder where I copy the media I want to watch to there and then delete after I watch them.

Any revisit to this feature? I just moved from Plex and it had a nice per-show feature where it'll delete the episode after watching (e.g. I don't want every late night talk show kept building up storage).

Hi, it's something we plan to add I'm future updates. Thanks.

Instead of just deleting, running a script after playback would be the best way.

I'd love that option, too!

It's a useful feature for someone who watches a lot of series at the same time. Just an option to see all "watched" content and delete it all at once would save me a lot of disk space !

Any updates Luke? Still waiting to jump ship from Plex but this is the one feature that's missing for me!

We don't have an automated feature for this yet but you could easily use the episodes tab of a TV library to filter on the criteria and then bulk delete using the multi select tool.

This is a manual step though that requires me to log in and take action. If it's a feature that's not on the roadmap that's completely fine - but wanted to touch base to confirm.

Thanks!

I understand. I was just trying offer something until we have an automated method. Thanks.

I'm actually becoming less interested in this. I used to delete an episode immediately right after I saw it but I see that it affects the Next Episode display everywhere, Emby, Kodi.

When you delete the last episode, you don't see the Next Episode suggestion anymore. It seems you need at least one last episode played present in your library to see the Next Episode suggestion.

It would have been great if the Next Episode suggestion worked even if you deleted the last played. Don't know how that works.

So you want to be prompted with a dialog after you've finished watching something?

Would be nice as a feature that could be enabled or disabled for specific libraries.
Maybe even a way to enable it for specific users.

What if each user could enable it in their preferences, and it was just one toggle that applied to all libraries?

Personally like the idea of specific libraries better as people might want to keep some movies or TV shows.
