jaxnatax 2 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Hallo, I'd like to update media metadata informations programmatically, eg: - non-consistent age rating - badly/not identified imdb/moviedb id - badly identified 3d settings Is it enough/valid to update the correct info at the XML files that stored beside the media file ? or Is it necessary to update it at somewhere else ? or Is it a must to invoke a method through the API/SDK ? ps. I mean "enough" here as MB capable the re-identify the movie if I exchange the ID field ? Please help. Regards, J

coldacid 6 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Luke, is there a way to forcibly refresh metadata from files? There have been a number of times where I've had to manually create or edit metadata files for some of my media for various reasons, and could never get the server to pick up on them.
Luke 42085 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 if you the metadata file and the timestamp changes, just run a normal library scan and it will pick up the changes, or just do nothing and allow the server to eventually realize the change on it's own.

Is it possible to initiate such a refresh on a specific/single item ? It would be great. br, J
