Hi,

I am a recent convert from Kodi + mySQL to Emby with both native client (android) and Kodi clients. As I moved from a decent existing library I have most of my original data was imported from Kodi style nfo's and then refreshed for missing data. This has got everything working correctly except my multi episode file TV files.

My original naming convention was: //TV Show/Show/SXXEX1.SXXEX2.Name to get around this problem I have renamed the affected episodes into the format SXXE1-E2 Name and deleted the earlier .nfo file but even after sync there is no difference, the episode just wants to appear as the file name. With the .nfo there the episodes were getting the correct descriptions but the sort names were always staying as the file name.

I can manually ID each episode but I can'f find anyway to manually ID a file as 2 or more episodes. Any help to either manually fix this using the metadata editor or to get the automatic scrapping to work would be appreciated?

The server is using the OpenMediaVault Plugin and was updated to Version 3.0.5911.0 today. I figured this was likely a general issue rather than a linux or OMV version specific so I have posed here.

As a side note I am really impressed with Emby and it is a major improvement over using a mySQL db to handle multiple Kodi clients.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Solved by using full refresh on the series after the rename.

I still have one issue with a multi episode file.... I cannot get a multi episode file that spans two seasons to be recognized (It is a 2 part episode from the last of season 3 and the first of season 4 and was released on Bluray this way). Given the way Emby presents things this makes sense, is there a work around anywhere? Ideally there would just a be a linked place holder for the second episode in this case similar to Kodi.

It would also be good to know if/how you can manually edit an episode to show as two or more if required?

Thanks,

John

Right now this currently is not supported, but perhaps in the future.

The ending episode number cannot be edited via Metadata Manager. But you could rename the episode file like:

SeriesName - S01E01 - EpisodeName.mkv >>> SeriesName - S01E01-02 - EpisodeName.mkv

and perform a rescan of the library.

But spanning accross seasons does not work (I suppose this is what @@Luke meant)
