Invalid Username and password when accessing remotely

Hello,

This is my first post, and very happy with the emby platform, i am running into an issue. When accessing the emby server locally (http://192.168.1.248:8096) and use my username and password I created it works just fine, I can play back media, etc.

But when I port forward 8096 to my IP 192.168.1.248, and access the emby server remotely, I get the login page and enter the administrator user name and password and I get a invalid username and password.

Are there different options to disable certain users from accessing remotely? I can't find it under the users section.

Thank you.

How are accessing remotely? via WANIP, DDNS, or Emby Connect?

Using chrome and and accessing over http. Just punched in my WAN IP address

I just tried it on my phone using Emby connect and same thing, username and password are invalid when I connect remotely, but works when I connect locally and using my private IP (192.168.1.248)

I'd it possible you're just confusing the user accounts? When you use emby connect you sign in with your forum credentials.

Or if you connect manually using your server address then you sign in with your local emby username and password

I downloaded the app from the App Store, and specified the manual server address and the username and password i use when I'm on my private network (192.168.1.248),

I used the same app and tried using my DDNS name and also the WAN IP, and get an invalid username and password.

Is there a section to enable/disable remote access per user account?

Hmm,

This is interesting. I reset my modem and got a new WAN IP, I used the IP address directly and it worked, but when I use my ddns name, for some reason I get the invalid username and password.

Has your ddns updated to the new wan ip?
