Client will not start - crashes

Hi,,

 

Bought this app some years ago now reinstalled today due to wiping tablet (GT-P7510) which is now running android 4.0.4

 

installed from play store.

 

When app is launched screen goes black and a second it goes white then black again then crashes.

 

Have uploaded a couple of the client logs

Hi, apologies, yes. I think there are some issues with really old versions of android that we need to look at.

Ok no problems thanks for the response I found a KitKat ROM for the tablet installed works fine.

so is there a fix to this issue. i have just downloaded emby for my samsung galaxy tab running android 4.04 and it does the exact same thing. looks like its starting to play then crashes and back to home screen. need a fix please.

4.04? A couple months ago we re-targeted the app to require 4.1 jellybean. I'm guessing the play store is still allowing you to get the last known version that supported 4.0. I will have to look at turning that off. I'm sorry. What I would suggest doing though is using the Chrome browser.

do you mean using chrome browser as the media client? how does this work?

Just open the browser on your device and visit http://app.emby.media
