NWGiles 10 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Hello I have read the wiki on naming multiple versions of movies I have a couple movieA - 1080p.mkv movieA - 3840p.mkv this seems to have worked as on the thumbnail it now shows a blue 2 in the top left. How do I pick which version I want to watch? thanks
Happy2Play 9783 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 (edited) There is no way to manually select which version to play. Auto select is suppose to choice the best one for the device/connection. Edited March 24, 2016 by Happy2Play
Luke 42085 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Hi, welcome. Right now you don't choose. Emby apps will automatically choose which one is most efficient for them, and if they both require transcoding, then the higher quality one will be used. It is probably a good idea to allow for version selection though. 2

Theatrical vs Extended, etc. With moving everything to single mkv's, I have some movies where I want to keep multiple versions of the movie, and there is no difference in resolution, but rather a difference in content. Thanks!
Xorp 48 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I just put these in the extras folder I do the same. I keep my prefered version in the main folder.

Thanks! No, that needs to be done through collections right now. Of course if they add UI to allow selection of different source files I don't see why it couldn't be used for both. Of course once they add such a UI I expect end users to find it annoying and demand a user preference they can set
