third problem:

after every reboot of the computer, the server is not working anymore....although there

is a tray icon....only complete new installation solves the problem...

and after new installation...the backdrop problem is there again....

the backdrop problem is solved.

after deleting the folders "extrafanart" und "extrathumbs" in the

movie folder, the backdrops appear for every film

now there are left two more probs:

1. media browser classic setup fails (i need media browser classic, because here i can use bigger fonts so i can read the details aof the films from the sofa)

2. what can i do, that the server runs properly after rebooting the machine, the option "server runs at startup" i have to choose or do i have to make an entry in the autostart menu? i tried both, but i think nothing works

---

Update: the backdrop problem is not solved....now there is again everywhere the same photo in every movie...its too buggy....how many more hours should spend in this....media browser 2.x was fast setup and worked nearly out of the box...let it stay alive

Google "clear clickonce cache" follow the steps and see if that allows you to install MBC.

don't give up just yet.  I am actually surprised that you are having this many issues.  Do you have a third party Meta Data fetcher?

and yes you should have that server runs at start-up check if you are not running it as a service.  Is it possible that he's missing .net 3.51??  I didn't see what OS you are running either.

@@ebr he's already tried the clean cache once - rundll32 %windir%\system32\dfshim.dll CleanOnlineAppCache.

Well, that's good and bad.  Good that you finally got up and going but bad that we still have no idea what the problem is/was.

Let us know if it crops up again.  Thx.
