Backdrop Problem

I installed Media Browser Server and Classic

in Media Center. Ive got two problems:

 

- The backdrop isnt changing. Every movie

i choose, evertime the same backdrop is

displayed and its not the one which fits

to the movie.

 

-from time to time the media browser classic

can not connect to the server although its

running. the configuration website is also

unavailable. ive to reinstall

the server then it works again.

How is ur metadata set up? I believe in the advanced section of you can select either MB or for xmbc/plex. If its set to xbmc/plex switch it to MB. I had the same issue for a new tv show I added because saving it as xbmc/plex compliant it places multiple backdrops into a extra fan art folder and mbclassic wasn't picking them up

Do not listen to that advice. Either saving option will be just fine. If you tell us what theme you're using we can take it from there.

im using the standard theme...problem not solved up to now....everytime the same backdrop...dvd movie covers are fine

I think some screen shots of your issue would help.

 

Also, look in the web client.  Does it behave differently there?

also in the web browser client only the same backdrop....i chose

a restore point in windows and did a new setup of media browser

...all the same...problem is still there

now i try to run the setup for media browser classic and it says it can not run...contact the developer

 

 

 

ah, my server has a problem again....so i have to reinstall it again....

but after new installation...the setup for media browser classic does not start anymore on the server machine....and this is my importend living room pc....server is running here...on the client notebook the media browser ist working....but displaying only the one and only same backdrop

First, for your setup issue, try clearing your clickonce cache (google it).

 

As for the backdrops.  Are you sure all your films have backdrops available?  Look for them on Fanart.tv and themoviedb.org.

 

Also, did you follow the instructions in the tutorials for library structure?

In Media Browser 2.0 the films all had backdrops...they automatically were loades by internet...do i need a plugin for that in media browser 3? ....now none of them has one....every film has the same single backdrop...

clearing my clickonce cache

and nothing changes...installation/setup mbc fails...frustrating

One thing I see right off the bat that will probably cause problems for MBC is that you are using drive letters instead of the recommended UNC paths to point to your media folders.

 

That shouldn't have any bearing on the install of MBC but will most likely be a problem.

 

You do have Windows Media Center, right...?

Yes i do have Windows Media Center....the old version 2.x of media browser isnt working anymore or is it still possible to install?...i would like to downgrade...3.0 is not working on my machine

This is probably an issue with your library structure.  Can you tell us how you have your files structured?  Does it follow the guidelines in the KB?

My movies are stored in one folder...

with mediabrowser2.x it was not a problem

 

 

It is also possible to store movies together in one folder.

do you have a solution for the problem

that the setup is not working anymore for the mbc ?! can you offer an .exe or full manual download of the installation file? net3.5 is installed...do i need anything else in win 8.1?

i am only talking about the backdrop issue, which i can take a look at over teamviewer. once that is solved we can move onto mbc.
