jscoys 147 Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Hi, Recently I made a big spring cleaning in my metadata : I developped a little script that open all my NFO Files, get IMDBID, TMDBID and rottentomatoid and recreate it with only these information. After that I deleted Emby Server Cache directory and the Library.db, restarting the Emby Service, ask for a Library scan and after one day and a half, all is just perfect! So all my titles are really fresh, from scratch, brand new... Now after the scan completed, all data are there excepting... Tags! It seems that no Tags are downloaded at all! And the "tags" feature in the movie filter has disappeared! My server version is 3.0.5913.0. Could you check please? Really need that tag feature!
Luke 42081 Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 tags are meant to be user-designed. they are not downloaded from anywhere.
jscoys 147 Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 Ok so it was a MCM features... That's why I had these... MCM got it from plots I think on TheMovieDd... Thx for answer Luke.
Luke 42081 Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 we store those separately as plot keywords, not user tags.
jscoys 147 Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 Ok but how to exploit these plot keywords? For instance If I want to avoid a user from seeing plot keyword "blood" movies?
jscoys 147 Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) Ok I think today there is no way to use these keyword plots right? Maybe it could be a very great feature to be able to select it or to search for it in search field! And for my part, an option to be able to restrict content based on these keyword plots for certain users would be very appreciated. Like Tags you know? For instance, I would be able to prevent a user to see all movies with a plot containing "sex", "adult", or "horror". Nice feature... Edited March 22, 2016 by jscoys

Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) Outside of Parental Controls there isn't currently any use for tags. You can't search on them. You can't filter based on them. There is no tag cloud system. It would be interesting if we could search for a combination of people, tags, keywords and genres one day... Emby show me all movies with aliens that are comedies. Edited March 23, 2016 by Koleckai Silvestri

You can filter by Movies by tags. Haven't tested if adding tags to tv works, since there is no tag filter in tv..
Luke 42081 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 There is filtering by tags, although not in all apps. I just took a look at keywords from tmdb and they are better than in the past. i suppose we could always reconsider saving them as tags. in the past though, they were really bad and looked to amateur to save in user's tag list.
jscoys 147 Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 Luke, it was my situation, the fact that the famous keyword plots were saved in tags and to be honest, it was a powerfull feature because I could make better restriction in users preferences. That's why I suggested to add a "contains" option to specify for instance that a specific user can't have access to all movies with tags/keywords plots containing "horror" or "violence". Maybe we could have two options, one for managing/exploiting the keywords and the other for tags. Maybe it could be merge. I let you design the way you want. It would be a great feature for sure! How can you do this? I don't even see my tags in the filter list using the web client. The new theater doesn't have filtering at this time. The iOS app is just a wrapper on the Web Client. Have never tried to search on the Roku app. Ideally, you would be able to type the tag, genre and keyword into the search box and get results. Edited March 24, 2016 by Koleckai Silvestri
pclausen 44 Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 Any update on this? I'd like to add tags for my Dolby Atmos titles and be able to search/filter on tags from the new Theater client.
Solution Luke 42081 Posted May 8, 2016 Solution Posted May 8, 2016 You can go ahead and add the tags. The filtering and searching will be added to the app in a future release. 1
