Surfdude 0 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I'm presumably missing something relatively simple here, but I cannot for the life of me work out how to restart Emby Server from within Open Media Vault. I have been avoiding updating as everything was more or less working fine, but it was recommended that I get the latest version when I posted about an issue yesterday. In the Emby dashboard I had a message that a new version was available and I should shut down Emby and update manually. So I shut it down but I can't see any way of installing updates manually and now I can't restart the server. Can someone please put me out of my misery before I start doing drastic things like uninstalling and reinstalling? Thanks.
Luke 42077 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Hi, to update you just use the Open Media Vault app update process. Probably something in their web interface I would think, no? To be honest, the version you're coming from is so old that you might have better results with a fresh install, but it's obviously up to you.
Surfdude 0 Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 As has been my previous experience with OMV, uninstalling and reinstalling from scratch has broken things to the extent that even ticking the "Enable" box is now throwing up errors. I'll have to do a nuke-from-orbit, reformat and start over I think, but I won't have the time for a while.

Usually OMV keeps files in Linux in such a way that makes easy to manually remove orphan files. After uninstalling the plugin, what happens? Any errors?
