Chillout 110 Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Emby used to remember the username and password using the HMTL webserver interface. Now everytime i shut down the browser and reopen it asks for the user name/password. This happens on Chrome, IE, and Safari on different devices. I tried deleting the cookies but still having trouble. Any other ideas? Version 3.0.5905.0
Happy2Play 9781 Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I see this on IE and Edge, not Firefox or Chrome.
Chillout 110 Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 I dont run Firefox but it does happen on Chrome, IE, and Safari. The only way to avoid signing in is to click directly on the Emby Server icon on the bottom right of the Windows toolbar when i'm at the HTPC. Having to grab the keyboard or tap authorization info on my iphone is not convenient when remote. Chrome recognizes the Emby username and password when i click on the 'key' icon (manage your passwords) but it doesnt automatically populate it or automatically login using existing credentials.
swhitmore 781 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Are you using a VPN? Could that be causing an issue?
DoubleDD 5 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I'm also experiencing this problem now. Started a day or so ago. Never had this issue before. I'm using Chrome on Windows and Safari on IOS. 1

It was reported in another topic about old bookmarks with /mediabrowser seem to go to login screen every time where /web logs in. I can confirm this behavior http://hostname:8096/mediabrowser/web/dashboard.html vs http://hostname:8096/web/dashboard.html Edited March 18, 2016 by Happy2Play 1
DoubleDD 5 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 That was the problem. I was using the 'old' URL. Thanks
Chillout 110 Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Yup that was the problem.. Switched the url to '127.1.1.1:8096/web/home.html' and after loging in again it lets me reconnect without reauthorizing. Thanks. 1
