Hi,

I think usage of tags is really a great value in Emby, but today it's not used at its plain potential I Think.

Two things about Tags :

- Allowing the use of Tags into search and/or into a special View listing all tags available. Excepting if I'm totally wrong, I can't search all movies with tags "superhero" today...

- When I want to disable access to specific movies to a specific user, for instance my little kid, I have to enter infos about tags forbidden into parental control. But If I want to disable access to "American Pie" and "Orgazmo", the first one have a tag "teenage sexuality" and the second one "Sex". Why don't allow the ability to define a "Contains" option? With that I would be able to say "All tags containing "Sex"" and my problem here is resolved. So a little dropbox with options "Is" and "Contains" would be great...

What do you think about it?

The "special view listing" is already implemented.  If you click on the "Movies" tab, then click on the weird looking "down" icon (the one next to the A/Z icon), you're presented with a way to filter the listings (including filtering via tags).

Oh yeah indeed you're right! But it still the second feature for a "Contains" option!

I would think ordinary parental controls based on ratings would address keeping an R and NC-17 movie out of your kid's queue far easier and more reliably than using tags.

I think it could bring a better way of tweak content access without a lot of effort...

tags in search results would be the bee's knees.

If also new content could be auto-tagged would be great.

In my case, I wish that no content gets visible to common users until a tag "REVISION" exists in that media.

That would allow me to only release something (remove the tag) when it's full revised (parental ratings, description, title, genres, etc....etc....)

That would also require that media specific tag can be hidden from libraries.

Totally agree on this topic point.

I can look into getting tags into search.

This would be true for US parental controls, however non-US content usually has local parental controls, which is a whole different set of categories. Here tags would really help.

We fully support other rating systems in our parental controls.  What system are you using?

Hi @@ebr, I need to say something about the parental rating system support.

Here for Brazil it exists BR-L, BR-10, BR-12, BR-14, BR-16 and BR-18.

- The list could be editable  (ex: I need to create something as BR-6, BR-8, or hide native BR-16), and sort them however I like.

- As asked in other topic. The CUSTOM RATING should be a column togglable in REPORTS.

- The ratings don't have descriptions anywhere.

That's what I remember just now.

Tnx

As timid1 said "special view listing" is already implemented, but not totally.

@@Luke their is a bug that prevent to display the whole tags list as you can see on this picture.

Tested in Web (Chrome) and IOS. In this state this "special view listing" is not usable.

I've been trying to get ratings for the Dutch Kijkwijzer system (ratings such as AL, 6, 12, 18 and tags like 'violence', 'sex', 'fear', 'drugs') implemented, with very limited success. The icons, I can find. The grabbing of ratings online has unpredictable successes, and getting them in the dropdown, I can't figure out.

This may offcourse just be my limited googling skils :-)
