Anyone else looking at using this service? I'm going to switch to it. I don't have cable and currently use an OTA antenna (for local channels) coupled with Sling Tv for premium channels. I was stoked to see it's available for Fire TV as I do not have a PlayStation.

This looks to be a way better deal. 55+ channels for $29! That's over 30 channels more than what I have with Sling for only $5 more.

Interesting.

This is where TV is going.  I use Sling now but pretty much only for ESPN.  This does look like an attractive option for people who want more live channels.

Right? I completely agree and I think Vue is really going to start the pushing because of how competitive it is. I used Sling for mainly, ESPN and AMC and then of course I added the kids package for my 7 year old. One of the big downsides for Sling is there's only the one news station. Vue, has more to offer for not that much more.

For me, I never signed up for Sling because of the lack of a DVR option. I have been watching for Vue to come to my area since it was first launched.

The version they are releasing doesn't have CBS, NBC, ABC or FOX as live TV options yet, On Demand only. So, I went out and bought a new antenna for those local channels and so far it is working great. But honestly, the On Demand aspect may work just fine for my needs.

The cable channels they offer at the lowest tier are exactly the ones I want plus a few more that I will probably never watch. With my current cable service I have WAY more channels than I need. The biggest ones I need are AMC, USA Network, History, Natl Geo, Discovery and Disney XD.

Anyway, I am potentially very excited about this. I am crossing my fingers my 7 day trial goes well. It's going to save me about 30.00 per month to use this one.

By the way, how is the video quality that you are seeing and what is your internet download speed?

HD. Also, many simultaneous users, depending on your bw. I have 15-18mbs and did a couple streams no prob. Here in DFW has all local except ch 8, ABC

I also have excellent HD streaming. Running into no issues with multiple streams (AFTV2 and iPhone 6s at the same time). I have a 50 mbs/ down connection and my main console (AFTV2) is hardwired. Interestingly, according to their website for PS3 and PS4 users, you can only have 1 of each running at the same time. The system is unable to stream to 2 PS4s or 2 PS3s. May be an issue for some users. Up to 5 simultaneous streams using the other supported platforms.

That is another advantage as I believe Sling limits you to 1 don't they?

Exactly, which is quite annoying.

Thanks for the input. I also noticed today that they are also an approved provider for a lot of the tv station apps like FOX Now, ESPN, USA NOW, etc. I checked out a few of those apps I am already using with my cable provider and Playstation Vue is listed.

Ok, I am signing up for the 7 day trial now.

Oh wow.. That I didn't now. That would be pretty great because one of the limitations is content outside your home network can be restricted depending on where you live. For me, it seems to be everything. I'm gonna check those now.
