pt1xoom 12 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Hi, Today I saw a video by LinusTechTips. The title of it How to stream your media files away from home. He talked about a few programs including Plex. He did not talk about emby. He has over 2.4 million subscribers. I have been unsuccessful in trying to contact him to have him look at Emby. It seems like he has a large viewership, and it might be worth someone's time to get him to look at Emby. 1
Redshirt 1487 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 He only lives a few KM from me. I'll set him straight lol. 3

I was sure to post the link for Emby on both his FB post, YT video and forum post. lol gotta spread the word. Edited March 15, 2016 by rcarteraz 1
Redshirt 1487 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 (edited) Any luck? Are you asking me or pt1xoom? I don't actually know Linus, their studio isn't far from where I live. If I were to visit them it would be a cold call and awkward. Edited March 16, 2016 by Redshirt 1

Randomacts 5 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 It might be a better use of your time to contact the guys at teksyndicate seeing as they actually are very much into open source / linux. imo they are like the more techy version of linustechtips and I believe that is what your current audience is for emby in its current state. At some point I plan to making a post over at their forums about emby but I won't until I feel I have a good enough grasp to explain how to do the more complex stuff rather then just be able to do it myself after about 15min of figuring it out.

Hi, why do you say that?
Randomacts 5 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Hi, why do you say that? Well they just are easier to contact and are honestly just more nerdy people then the folks at linustechips. Teksyndicate has also been trying to get their community to try and use open support alternatives and support them with money. If I recall correctly they are planning on paying devs to try and get some open source tools for when they are having issues doing productive work on linux ect.
