cow666 6 Posted March 17, 2016 Author Posted March 17, 2016 and the blasted thing has just died again.. process locked.. unable to kill another reboot.. So it appears as if it has nothing at all to do with the plugins.. no plug ins and it crashed quicker than ever before

cow666 6 Posted March 17, 2016 Author Posted March 17, 2016 Sorry.. this is my main entertainment system.. I can't be stopping all TV to go and reboot the server everytime emby server decides to become a zombie. Think I'm going to put emby on hold and go back to vanilla Kodi. Sorry.
Angelblue05 4132 Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I don't think Kodi is the issue, but it's better to be safe (other users in this thread reported not using Kodi). You saw your server crash quickly, so it'd be a quick test to confirm.

jds828 24 Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 You've probably done it but... have you checked the Windows System and Application logs? Some scheduled Windows tasks can cause issues with 3rd party software.
vick1982 15 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) for me it isnt affecting kodi... its affecting the apps and web access which me and my family use alot ... we use kodi with emby addon just for pc in lounge and theatre room as it is way better for that. Someone in my family is always messaging me saying emby isnt working on their phone, tablets or computers from web browser and i have to remotely log in to the server and restart emby server... is happening multiple times a day... i am just waiting for the people that i have told to go to emby from plex to give me hell now Edited March 18, 2016 by vick1982

I'm setting up a second instance of Kodi tonight thats looking straight at the SMB server and going to Plex for the remote stuff.. can't be doing with rebooting my server everyday just so my family can watch their shows.

cow666 6 Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 (edited) I have now been running for 10 days and not a single hang up, I have the Kodi plug installed but have just checked the Emby for Kodi plugin and noticed that I have never actually re-enabled the FastSync option. As I have been running perfectly well without this so a simple process of deduction would indicate that the fast sync has been the cause of my woes. vick1982 15 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 It's good you found problem . But without fast sync is painfully slow on some of my clients when restarting kodi. Hopefully this bug can be fixed with the plugin as it was working fine before the update 1

I'm fairly sure the lock up is caused by the plugin under specific circumstances... Maybe database related? The users confirmed that not using the fast sync plugin resolved the issue.
