I am glad to report that LiveTV works now witrh m3u playliist on Emby Server 3.0.5882 on my Win2012R2 after many a trial.

Kudos to the Emby team !

Meanwhile I also tried Plex, and while Plex did great with IPTV Channel (aka Cigaras), I had major problems with settinp up Managed Users/Guest.

Only after paying for Plex Pass ($5/month)  did I realize that I still need my account login even with the non-admin Managed User account with remote browser access, http://PlexServer-IP:32400/web , but also that I just couldn't sync my new accounts. Kept getting Looking for Servers with the Guest and Managed User set-up. Even a fresh install didn't help. Their Ninja support is less than worthy.

So anyway my faith in Open Source is not misguided :) As per my last posts, I re-installed Emby Server and my problem with the rotating circle on LiveTV > Settings > Tuner > m3u went away. Today I also read about the new Server (beta?) version with m3u fixes.

Some FIX SUGGESTIONS:

1. Have quick menus (like Plex) in IPTV/Live TV channel logos/names so a mouse hover gives you the Play and the vertical3 dot menu. Otherwise there is needless several page thru clicks.

2. I still can't find a way to edit/delete m3u playlist entries/ links in LiveTV (and had same problem with Video Bookmarks.) But maybe a great and simple m3u editor can be added to save countless hours editing thru non-working links and logos/channels. This 16 year old did wonderful:

(As noted in a  page 7 last comment, this works with VLC 2.1.5, but not with the current 2.2.2.)

3. The LiveTV Channels menu still has problems giving Video Err messages, and you need to try a couple times. The Guide seems to work better.

4. I added a 2nd m3u playlist to LiveTV; it didn't work (no stream Video Err), so I deleted it but the new entries still appear in LiveTV Guide /Channels after the entries from the 1st m3u playlist, even after a server reboot.

Cheers,

Athar.
