Need some help to setup / Emby Theater / Live TV + guide / Windows 10

I used to have Windows 7 with WMC + Emby and an inboard TV tuner. Everything worked just fine. 

 

I updated to windows 10 so I could use Emby Theater and some of their plugins like netflix which is not supported anymore in WMC.

 

After a lot of frustration, I gave up trying to figureout how to get live TV out of my old inboard TV tuner and bought HDHomerun Extend Plus (which came in last night). 

 

I was able to get Emby Theater to recognize the HDHomerun and I know that the TV Guide is loading fine, because I was able to see it while running Emby in Chrome...

 

However, The TV guide does not show up in Emby Theater

 

Does this has anything to do with the fact that I'm running the free version? if I pay for the premier version would I have access to the TV guide inside Emby Theater??

Hi, welcome. Yes, you're right, the old version of the app never had support for a tv guide. It's just something we never got to. If you need a free option i would use the emby for kodi add-on.

 

But check out the new theater app, which you can download and browse around free. Not only do you get that with Emby Premiere, but you also get access to the online version of the app as well which runs right in your browser:

Thanks for the feedback. I bought the life time membership last night, but I haven't even tried to install the latest version yet. I'm glad to know that will fix my issue.

So, yesterday i got the TV guide to load en the latest version of Emby Theater. Everything was working okay with the exception if the record series button. It would say on the lower left corner "settings saved" but it will not record.

 

This morning, I restarted the HTPC (which has the emby server) and now the TV guide fails to update under scheduled tasks. I tried inputting my login info again, but I still get the same error. 

 

any ideas what is the problem?
