pop-up menu not working in firefox

I'm having problems with the pop-up menus in firefox. When I click the vertical elipse, the screen dims but either no menu appears or it appears totally out of position e.g. against the left hand edge of the screen rather than under the mouse pointer. It's working fine in Chrome.

 

 

I've done the usual stuff, clearing cache, starting firefox in safe mode etc. but this hasn't helped.

Web client version is 3.0.5900.0

Firefox version is 45.0, but 44.0.2 was also affected.

 

To reproduce:

1. load web client

2. navigate to movies

3. click a movie to enter the movie page

4. click the elipse between sync and the played tick
