Dysan 2 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 When casting from an Android device, the remote controls won't pop up, even when trying to take over the chromecast session on a Browser the remotes wont appear. choosing remote control from the phone doesn't help either. making it impossible to select subtitles or pause the playback attached are the reports, also tested on a Nexus 5 running version 6. 2 screenshots, 18-44-02 when playing, 18-44-11 choosing remote control when playing. Ren34 3 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 It happens to me quite a bit too. Unlike your screenshot, when my controls disappear, the chromecast icon goes gray instead of blue. I just click on the cast icon again and select the chromecast already in use. This gives me back my remote controls.
bedollandres 1 Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I have the same problem, using latest Stable server and a Chromecast 2. The remote won't show up on the android app. If I use Chrome browser on the same phone I do get access to the controls.

Initially thought the issue was Android N dev preview, then remembered the update that actually broke it, and even went back to Android 6.0.1. rcocchiararo 1 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 i have been testing this but unable to reproduce. Any luck on this? As i said, 2.6.03 worked fine, but since Android N preview was not the issue, i went back to it, and 2.6.03 does not open there (2.6.10 does, but has no remote controls )

Will have to find some workarround meanwhile (pc from another room, or wife's iphone?). Emby keeps rocking on my chromecast, and the SAME frekaing media triggers transcoding on plex (still not able to make the full jump)
Luke 42077 Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Keep in mind mobile chrome supports chromecast now, as a temporary workaround until this is resolved. If you can come up with more specific steps to reproduce then that will make things easier to narrow down.

Exporting Emby Webpage as direct link/app in Android Chrome works actually pretty flawlessly except the lack of libvlc. Currently using latest Dev Server, and latest Android App. Reproducation steps are pretty simple for everyone affected: 1. Open Emby app 2. Connect to CC -> Successful 3. Navigate around through movies/series -> correct page/summary is shown on TV 4. Start a stream -> stream starts but neither the control bar shows in app, nor is something displayed in Remote control section 5. Due to fact 4., the stream needs to be aborted by disconnecting CC using the CC button in app This happens on nearly every movie (direct stream or transcoding), but somehow most of my series are not affected. I can start an album / playlist (to CCA) and the remote will be there but skip a song and it randomly disappears. Sometimes it stays in the notification bar and sometimes not. It seems song related as if I manually play the next item in the list the remote returns but if I put the offending song back on the remote never happens. It happens on my Sony devices and galaxy tab. I can re-create the problem and post logs if needed. Direct play works fine. Hope this helps. Sent from my E6853 using Tapatalk

Yeah, this applies to me and my users to. Did just realize I can disconnet the chromecast in the Chromecast app. I told my users that they had to unplugg their Chromecasts to stop a movie..
