[Feature Request] LiveTV setting options

Hi,

 

I have an HDHomeRun tuner but my country (Greece) is one of those not yet supported by Schedules Direct for natively supported TV Guide so I have to use an external service for this.

That ends up with two lists of same channels and the only option available to prevent double channel list, is to disable the natively supported tuner.

 

@@team, I don't know how difficult that could be to implement or what else might be needed, but I would really like to have an option to merge channels by name and choose which source to use for playback, guide and recording service, taking advantage of both quick playback start, through native tuner and TV Guide, through the external service.

 

Advantages:

• Fast starting playback. Starting playback takes way longer through external tuner than native one.
• Free TV Guide (if available)
• No additional transcoding inside local network if not necessary. Emby transcodes external tuner's stream on most of the currently available External Services (e.g ServerWMC, NextPVR)
• LiveTV zapping ready (another possible future enhancement).

 

Disadvantages:

• None I can think of.
