LiveTV vs Video Bookmarks and m3u playlists OR PLEX?

I am going to try one last time, since so far my Emby experience has been a complete PIA !

Is it the doc, or just me or ? Maybe Plex really is a much better deal !

 

1. I go LiveTV >Tuners > m3u > xyz.m3u playlist input from PC folder (downloaded fresh today)

 

2. Then Video Bookmarks > Settings > Type:File > C:\Users\Administrator\Downloads\xyzplaylist.m3u

 

(Wouldn't it be nice to have a click path to the file, as opposed to manual typing?)

 

3. Also try one http channel link from above m3u playlist in Video Bookmarks > Settings > Type:http >

4. Try Twitch plugin, shows video tiles, but no play. Previously ITV plugin (uninstalled) was same.

 

In all above, I get the same Video Error. VLC is just a blank tab open in same Chrome browser.

 

5. However http://html5demos.com/assets/dizzy.mp4 plays nicely in Video Bookmarks.

 

So are m3u playlists supported? And what is the diff between LiveTV and Video Bookmarks?

Why can't Emby have a decent Startup Guide like Plex does?

Hi, have you clicked any of the help buttons that are all over the web interface? These buttons take you to the wiki article for that very topic. In this case, let's talk about Live TV with m3u. You can enter a file path or url to an m3u file. To see examples of what valid m3u files look like, see here:

I have removed Twitch from the plugin catalog. It was built by a community member, snazy2000, and it appears to no longer be working. It's been removed until he fixes it. To expedite this, you could try sending him a PM.

Thanks. I truly want to use Envy over Plex, but keep getting stumped. I believe in Open Source.

 

Again a Startup Guide would really help as opposed to wikis and buttons later.

 

1. Browsed thru your link and will read it too. Now is this xmtvplayer same as Live TV?

 

2. Can you kindly relate any specific examples of EPG loading in Live TV, per Kodi plug-ins like PseudoLiveTV, ivue2 and IPTV Simple Client? I can see great potential here with your xml support.

 

3. Couple days ago angelblue05 replied my post saying that IPTV plugin ( Video Bookmarks?) doesn't work with Kodi. Is that true?

 

4. How can I stream from Emby to Kodi as per original question, assuming the EmbyKodi plugin works and connection is made?
