vaise 340 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I am not sure if I am trying to do something that is not possible. I have a RecordedTV library in Emby which is over my NextPVR liveTV recordings. Now we have the delete option, this works really well for us. The only issue is that as the Recorded TV streams are MPEG2, they always get transcoded by the Roku players around the house. I want to reduce the load on my PC if possible - we recently had three people trying to watch recorded TV at the same time, and the three ffmpegs used all my poor G3258 CPU and emby server itself then failed. I was hoping I could have a sync job that monitors the library itself, and any new files, rather than the shows in the library, that way, the overnight sync jobs would convert to a roku friendly format and that would be streamed automatically in direct play. I dont wish to use a third party (i.e mcebrowser etc) if this can be done in Emby itself. Thanks.
vaise 340 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) In addition - keep in mind I am NOT using the Plugins for nextPVR (which would enable the sync button on recordings) due to issues with this plugin as I have reported here before. I was asked by Luke to instead create an Emby library over the files - which meant I am where I am now. This issue was titled : 'Loading, Please wait' randomly when watching via Roku Edited March 8, 2016 by vaise
Luke 42083 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Hi, yes you could use folder sync to create optimized versions of your recordings for direct play purposes.
