MSattler 390 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Version: 1.1.46g Issue: Client requests a movie via the FireTV Emby client. For whatever reason it takes longer than ususally to start playback, user goes back and hits play again a couple of times. The end result is that there are now 3 ffmpeg processes for the exact same movie, and they are all playing. When the back button is pressed it appears the process is not told to stop but instead maybe pause, as the cpu utilization is lower, but the processes stays there until I kill it manually. The log directory shows multiple transcode logs for the same movie, and the same device ID. FWIW, I do not see this same issue with the Tia client. Thanks, Marucs
ebr 16169 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 This issue, I believe, is actually on the server. If we report stopping playback before it has actually started, the server loses track of the ffmpeg instance. However, I believe the current server (or at least dev) is much better about tracking these down and killing them after a few minutes.

MSattler 390 Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 How long did you wait? For the ffmpeg instances to stop? By the time I logged in they had been running 4-5 minutes.
Redshirt 1487 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 The problem will go away if you update ebr's client to 1.1.50.
