Hi @@softworkz,

I am either to stupid to figure it out without documentation or something is not working with auto-organization of new tv series. In organize activity log episode shows in red. I then select the folder to manually organize. I click the + sign to search for series title. Then it requires me to select a series root folder, but the there is neither a folder in the list to select nor can I create a new one. What am I doing wrong? Running Windows emby server v 3.0.5882. Help appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

softworkz, i would drop the virtual folder stuff, just have them pick a directory, then save the last used directory in auto-organize options

The problem was that I did not have a TV folder in my library. I though tit would use the Recorded TV folder set up for live TV. Once I created a TV folder and added it to the library, I was able to select the directory as the root folder.

I think it's better to have the predefined list, because these are the only folders where it would work. All other folders that a user may choose would have a negative result and this would just increase calls for support about it.

I would do like this instead:

  • If the user didn't configure a tv folder (like the OP):  Display a warning message
  • If there is just a single tv folder configured: Don't display the dropdown
  • If there are several folders configured: Display the dropdown

Softworkz, all good ideas. My problem was that I could not figure out why the drop down list was empty. Your solution would solve that problem.

I'll add an appropriate message for this situation!
