breezytm 124 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Hey guys, Since Emby server knows the tuner is a hdhomerun, any chance of bypassing the server and retrieve the stream from the tuner directly. Yes Yes and Yes I know I am asking a lot from you guys in terms of coding but it'll make life so much easier and save us poor people who can't afford beefy servers in terms off transcoding. If I add the hdhomrun to kodi as a upnp device, I can browse and playback any channels beautiful. As long as of course it's not flagged as drm but once the emby server is involved, I can't. It tries to transcode the file even though the client can playback it without any issues. Thanks a bunch for being the great guys that ya are and plan on making this possible for the less fortunates. Go to settings>Addons>PVR Clients and enable PVR HDHomeRun Client. Then Settings>TV>General and enable Live TV. It is already installed in the windows version of KODI. However, if you are using OpenELEC, you have to first install the addon from the OpenELEC repo, then follow the steps above. I am not sure about other builds). That's it you will have the Live TV stream and data being pulled directly from the HD HomeRun Tuner. Cheers, LongMan

I was using the hdhomerun view client before @@LongMan directed me to the hdhomerun pvr addon client. Do I like it better than the view client? Yes. I love the old school guide. But I am looking for a one stop shop.
