Aquitaine 5 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Hiya Emby citizens (emibzens?), Quick question for you. We have a home server running Windows Server 2012 + Emby that has all our media (film, tv, music) and it works wonderfully. We love it. I have a Hauppage TV card and a cheapo HD Antenna. I was going to just plug the antenna into the TV (since we don't watch live TV much) but got to thinking: is it possible for me to put it on the Emby server with the TV card and stream live tv? I see a bunch of plugins for live TV but I wasn't sure if it was possible under Windows Server since there's no media center. If the drivers for the card work, is this do-able, or a bit too ambitious? Thank you!
mellomade 141 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 NextPVR, DVBLink or MediaPortal (via plugins) will be your best bet. Native Live TV via Emby alone is only possible with the HDHomeRun tuners. NextPVR and MediaPortal are free solutions - and in addition to the plugin you will also need their stand alone software running. 1
robtperk 0 Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I have the same tuner card. I notice that some Hauppage tuners are listed on the LiveTV tab, but the 2250 isn't one of them. NextPVR does recognize it, but there is no app that I know of that enables me to use it through a Roku, smart tv or apple tv device and my television. I'd like to have the 10' menu (from the television) which would enable me to schedule recordings and download tv metadata on the programs. Suggestions? Thanks!!
