Should I understand this to mean Microsoft's "Internet Explorer" must exist on the machine? I removed IE from my copy of Window OS
Luke 42080 Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I believe you can perform both of the steps suggested without having IE installed. I don't think that should be an issue.
Robert_D 0 Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 I believe you can perform both of the steps suggested without having IE installed. I don't think that should be an issue. I have a Windows 7 Professional box - where do I find the "Server Manger" Applet described in the link provided so I can disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration? On a Windows 2008 Server I know it's located in Control Panel Adminstrative Tools -- Not true on Windows 7?????? What's next? Why is the installer so hard to download?
Robert_D 0 Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 Thanks for your help. I appreciate the effort but the solution listed above turned out to be nonsensical on a Win 7 Platform. Nevertheless, I solved the issued myself. Believe or not, by utilizing the built-in "Internet Options" app on Control Panel and adjusting the internet security zones (I run custom setting for various zones) the issue disappeared. Oddly enough, I was just interested in a live Demo for MB3 so I set up a VM to check it out. I am a long term user of MB2 and think I'll stay with that. Problem I have is I need to rely on an external player (that only the Microsoft Media Center plugin allows) to watch some titles in my collection. In order to keep MB2, guess I'll have to keep Win 7 going in a VM and be chained to "Microsoft Media Center" for the rest of my life! Anyway - Thanks Again!
