dennisf878 0 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 New user of Emby. I've added movies and a couple of audio recordings successfully, but, the last day or two, the following message below is displayed when I try to add audio recordings The path IS correct, but, I'm not sure about the "server process." "Please ensure the path is valid and the Emby server process has access to that location." In advance, thank you for your help.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 It means that the user account running the emby server process needs read access to the media files at the path you specified in your library setup.
dennisf878 0 Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 Thank you very much for your response. I'm not altogether clear on how to enable "read access" to the files. I'm using a new computer that has Windows 10, and I'm finding the permissions part of the operating system a little convoluted.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Do the following: On the server right click the taskbar and select Task Manager. Click the Details tab. Find MediaBroswer.ServerApplication.exe and look at the User Name column. That's the user account that's running your server. Open the Emby Web UI. Click Library Click the ... menu on your movie library and select Manage Folders. Your library folders will be listed. Assuming the folders in item 6 are UNC paths like //movieserver/moviefolder, you need to make sure that the user in step 1 has rights to the share and the Windows folder you've shared. If you used a local path like C:\movies then you just need to make sure that the user account for your server process has rights to the windows folder in question. To check share rights right click the shared folder > select Properties > click the Sharing tab > click Advanced Sharing > click Permissions. To check the folder rights right click the shared folder > select Properties > click the Security tab. 1

dennisf878 0 Posted April 11, 2016 Author Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) New problem with audio. I've successfully added a Number of audio files, and they played for a several days. Of a sudden, they no longer play. I don't believe I changed any settings. If it is helpful, I stream through Roku2. Thank you. Edited April 11, 2016 by dennisf878
