Auto organize broken

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm using Android mobile version 2.3.80 (last one on 28 february 2016) and emby server 3.0.5891.0

The auto-organize function, when used via android, seems to be broken since the last update.

I can select episode to organize, sets its season and episode number but the OK button do nothing.

It works when used on the webapp.

Thanks!

Emby is great !!

Ok, it's actually just a version mismatch. It's using new features that are only in the beta server. I think we'll have a new stable release soon.

I think I don't understand. I'm using beta server version, is it the cause of the problem? Or must I use a beta version of the Android app (don't know if it exists...)

Since the last server update,  3.0.5896.0, the auto-organize form in webapp is broken too.

Auto organize from android app still does not work...

I will try to add more details about this problem this week end. But I don't see lots of things to add to give a better description...

@@softworkz Server version :3.0.5896.0
Launch web app. Go to "manage server", then " auto organize".
Click on the folder icon to try to organize an episode. Select the TV show, set the season number, the episode number, and click OK button.
Problem: nothing happens, no error shown. The dialog stays opened.
The same behavior happens using emby app on Android.

Hope the description is fine enough.

Yes, I know this problem:

  • You complete the organize dialog with OK
  • An error occurs (at the server, but you don't know about it)
  • You got no idea about that error
  • You only experience that the dialog does not close

I've already submitted a collection of proposed changes to remedy such situations:

https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/pull/1506

Will make sure that (some) errors occuring at the server during organize-completion will be indicated at the client in a message box.

Even more changes will be required towards an optimum solution (see #1507).

But PR #1506 is an important step to continue that process from here.

I noticed that creating a new TV show using the auto organize form works fine...

Hi Luke,

I've read it. Does it mean that the fixes made by softworks will be included in a next release ?

Oh sorry, didn't even notice that...

Just rebased to latest dev, but it seems nothing has changed.

There are still 7 unmerged commits (2 of them are only cosmetic but 5 are addressing bugs)
