On the fly converted recordings and Roku

Has anyone tried the new mp4 convert feature with a roku? I have not done the upgrade yet because I need to wait for a day when the family is not home to watching tv. It says the database upgrade in this version can take a while.

 

I am wondering if it direct plays, supports bif file generation with the roku plugin, and if it does a good job converting 1080 content with a 60i framer ate (charter Cable source here)
