metadata management - language etc

hello

 

how do you change movies data from one language to another ? for instance i've chosen english for my main directory because most of my movies are in english, and french have the bad habits to translate titles in the most stupid way. but for japanese or french movies, i'd rather use their french titles and overview.

so i select the french movie in the metadata manager, and choose french for Metadata Settings -> Preferred download language, and France for Metadata Settings -> Country.

(btw what's the difference between preferred download language and country ?)

but this doesn't change anything. even trying refresh or identify button, everything stays in english...

what should i do to change the language (mainly for titles and overviews) ?

ok i think i understand a few things :

- after hitting refresh, it's necessary to refresh the browser page, otherwise fields appears unchanged

- when hitting refresh you have to choose replace existing images instead of download missing images. otherwise posters and logos will stay untouched. it might be obvious but i hadn't noticed this small detail.

- home page seems to keep old posters in cache. i guess posters switches wont appear there unless you clear some server side cache, or probably after some time.

Hi, yes you're correct. many of the settings require re-scanning content in order to take effect. we should add some in-app info about that. thanks.
