jj12345 25 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Just purchased the windows 8 app for my HTPC and have a couple of questions/observations: 1. Seems designed for touchscreen as opposed to remote control. Is remote control support planned or is that not the target market for this app? 2. I couldn't connect using my server name or localhost I had to use the public url I have routing to my MB3 server. Is that expected behavior. MBT connects fine using localhost and html5 connects fine using my server name. 3. Looks great.
7illusions 1249 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 1. The app is designed for touch, MBT is the recommended solution for HTPCs. There will be improved support for remote control along the road, but it's not a high priority. 2. Localhost is not allowed by default as a restriction from Microsoft. You will have to use a tool such as http://loopback.codeplex.com to bypass this. 3. Thanks.
