security of passwords on forums?

So since I use Emby Connect, the same password is also used to connect to my Emby Server.  Are all the PW encrypted some how?

Invision uses a triple MD5 hash and a random salt schema for passwords. It is posted on their site. Not the highest security but should suit the purposes of the site.
