runtimesandbox 171 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) I just got some warnings from my server than the CPU usage was at 100%. It turns out that there are 4 transcodes continuing for the same film that isn't even being watched anymore. I started watching and stopped about a minuet in. It seems that emby hasn't successfully terminated the transcoding jobs when the films has stopped being watched in the ios app. Is this a known issue at all? Attached is one of the transcode logs and a subtitle extract log (although i didn't have subtitles turned on) There was nothing obvious in the server log Server version: Version 3.0.5871.0 Could it be to do with funny characters in the file name? – Edited February 26, 2016 by spudy12
runtimesandbox 171 Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 Okay so it seems to be that the file name and the folder name had a – (long dash) in it instead of a normal - (short dash) This long dash seems to get converted to – which ffmpeg or emby doesn't seem to like I'm not sure why but this stops the ffmpeg job from terminating like other jobs for other items do.
runtimesandbox 171 Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 This is from the ios app but it happens from the media browser as well
