Chapter Creation and Sharing

Is there any appetite out there to share the chapter files we have created?

 

I originally thought for music concerts (especially those that dont have chapters) it could be very useful to share the effort in creating the chapters and a practical benefit in having music concerts indexed to e.g. song start.

 

But of course other media can benefit from chapters, and not just demarcation of songs but also personal interpretation of significant stages of a film or tv show.

This personal element would make sharing of your own chapters of particular interest.

 

If there is an appetite for this sort of thing, post your chapters here, we can develop standards/format/naming scheme better as we go...if the idea proves popular, it might work as an online service..maybe a feature request of the emby dev team :-).

 

Heres a detailed one to get started...in MKV format...a detailed list of the song names and the multiple artists for the rock and roll hall of fame concert ...all 50!...

if you like it..consider posting an example of your own in return....

 

I use MKVtoolnix to create chapters and apply.

Fair point.  I'm more than a bit anal about my rips and their supporting metadata/images.  Naming my chapter stops might just be a step too far for me

Only really important for something like his example - a concert - or, maybe some compilations or sports stuff.

Once I started I assure you I would not just STOP with only part of my collection completed.  That's not how this works.

I'd suggest hunting for & sharing with, be done on ChaptersDB.org, sadly they don't have a way to tag stuff with IMDB ID's, which would be a huge help.
