If I pause this for just a few seconds, the tab goes to sleep and when I wake it and press play it restarts right from the beginning.

Hi, you're really running 2.3.80? Can you update it to the latest version? Thanks.

Hi. I could be wrong about the app version number.

I couldn't find it within the app itself, so i went to Google Play, and checked the version number from there.

There appear to be two versions on Google Play

Emby for Android (this is the one i have)  -------------   version 2.3.80

AND

Emby for Android TV -------------   version 1.1.46g

Ok, we're up to 2.5.90 now. what is your android version? do you know your system architecture?

If I follow this link:

https://emby.media/emby-for-android-mobile.html

It takes me to this page

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mb.android

And that is version 2.3.80:

This is what my Android phone LG-G4 (un-rooted) and Galaxy tab (rooted) are running. They are both running the latest available version (from the play store)

They both exhibit the same behaviour

Does the actual Android version they're running make a difference?

Could you post a link to an apk of version 2.5.90

Many Thanks

yea the android version makes a difference. i wonder if the store just thinks the newer versions are not compatible for whatever reason, therefore it's not presenting them to you.

Okay, Ill update my phone (been putting it off for ages) and if it solves it on the phone, I'll install a newer rom on the tab.

Nope....Still the same
Phone now running Android version 6
Still on same version number, no option to upgrade, and still doing the same thing.

I pause a show, allow screen to go blank.

When i wake the phone, the marker is in the right place in the timeline, BUT, as soon as i press play, it goes straight back to the start.

It doesn't matter how far into the show I am, it goes right back to the start.

I updated to latest server last night (didn't get version number, was too tired)
Came in to work today, and the issue is fixed.

Wow, you guys are fantastic.

Thanks for such a quick fix.

HI, glad to hear it but this hasn't been looked at yet, so i would expect that you'll see the issue again at some point.

Where were you getting that version information from?

The only one I can see on the google apps store is the changelog in the description which I don't think gets updated very much. Might explain the 2.3.80 version
