New Server question

So I'm moving to a new server and I've had some issues with backup/restore plugin and the manual backup/restore that luke posted. I decided to just copy all the contents of the  mediabrowser-server folder (old server) to the new server's emby-server folder.

Is this safe? It seems to be coming up ok and my media is starting to show up as the scan is running. Just want to make sure I'm not going to bork any thing.

Also, does anyone know how well the kodi plugin reacts to server moves?

Ok I just don't get this. I can't get the backup plugin to do a restore. The one time I did get it to work it only restored my users no other settings even though the backup was set to get everything and everything was checked for the restore. I tried using Luke's manual guide and everything looked until the first library scan started. The scan started and I saw my media with watched states for users. Then it got to about 45% and just hung there... It looks like it is grabbing all the images and metadata at that point. Check my play states and they are all gone now... WTF... I tried moving the whole folder from my old server to the new and the same thing as above happens.

I've used Emby/Media browser for a long, long time. I'm finally replacing my server, which has the data in the old Mediabrowser folder, with a new server and I can't transfer my stuff... Looking at what the backup plugin is backing up, I'm not even sure it gets everything that is require to do a "full" migration.

Someone please help!

I saw that and I just tried IE. That seems to have completed the restore but my played states are still jacked. I did read in another thread that the library scan has to complete and then they will show up. So I'm going to start from scratch on the new server since I have been moving so much around. I will do a restore using IE and I will just let it sit over night for the library scan.. It is going to take awhile since I have about 17TB worth of movies (over 1300) and tv shows (over 300 shows) to scan.

Don't know if you have Charter extraction enabled during library scan, if so disabling it will improve scan time dramatically.

Chapter extraction is off... The base scan of the media is quick it's all the metadata and images since that is not pulled over in the backup that is slow. It's odd that the playstates are there when it starts the scan but then disappear. I haven't let it do a computer once through though so maybe they will come back if I'm patient.
