If i open a browser, i have to login the first time.  Close the browser, and open it a second time... it's already logged in.  Am i missing something or does that not almost completely negate parental controls.  I'm not going to remember to log out each time.

Hi, welcome. We should probably make this configurable but most people just want to have it remember so that's why the default is the way it is.

Our TV based apps behave differently which is much more friendly to Parental Controls.  The browser is usually not used on shared devices though so that is why it behaves the way it does.

More families share a single computer than televisions and tablets. We didn't let our children have their own computers until they were high school.

A workaround would be to use user accounts for each family member on the PC. Then when they open the browser, they can log into their Emby account. Can be a hassle maintaining multiple desktops for a family, though. Especially if you want to install an actual Emby client for each member of the family.

This is what we do.  We have one "family" desktop in an accessible location.  Each family member has their own individual log in.  Since Windows 10, we've even taken it a step further and setup a "Windows" family as our kids are still young and we want to control the content if we happen to to be not be able to monitor when they log into that PC.

Getting the Windows Store EMBY app working on each profile was a little more "complex" then it needed to be but that is a fault of Windows not the app.  Most of my family members don't use EMBY through the browser even within their own profile on the PC.  They prefer to use one of the excellent apps available.
