Can't access server on Fire TV but works on Phone/Web

Hello,

 

When I try to access the server I have access to on the Fire TV, I am unable to open it as I had done when I initially connected. All I can see is the list of fellow users who have access to the server. When I log in on the web or my phone, it works just fine and I have access to the server and it's content. Do you know what is going on? Previously I had the list of users in a pane list and one of the pane's was the name of the server. I would click on it and it would give me access.

HI.  I'm a little confused by those two statements...

 

Did you login with Connect (using a pin code you entered on the web)?  Below the list of users, is there a button that says "logout of connect"?

Hi,

 

Yes i did login with Connect. There is not "logout of connect." Under the Select User section there is Other Options. In there I have two choices - Enter Manually which asks me to login and I try my own user id and it doesn't work and the Login with Connect - when i select that the app crashes and kicks me out.

Okay, try a "clear data" on the app and then re-logging in with Connect and I'll have a look at what may be going wrong here.  Thanks.

alright that is done. i still ended up with the same result FYI that i detailed in my last post

Can you tell me exactly what you did after the "clear data" and exactly what happened?

After i cleared data, i launched the app and use the key to connect on my phone (logged in) and then hit next. it loaded and presented me with the same screen as i had seen before - select user and under that is other options with enter manually and login with connect

Okay, the fact that you are ending up at a user selection screen means that something is going wrong with logging into the user that Connect account is attached to.

 

Has something changed like the user name or password perhaps?

 

Even if that's the case, I'm still not sure why it would fail though.

 

Have you done something like hide the guest user from login screens maybe?

no nothing has changed on my end (in regards to user name or pw) and to be honest i dont even know how to do that so i doubt i hide the guest user

Is it a guest user or a normal user to which you linked a connect account?

 

IOW - does the user show up on the first line of users in the server dashboard or under the list of "Guests"?

Yeah, that failed login is the original problem.  You should never see the user selection screen but, when it tries to login automatically, it is having the same failure and so then falls back to the login screen.

 

Can you try to login on the Fire and then post the server log here please?  Thanks.
