mc2000 3 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Hi All, Auto organize for TV shows broke on me for some reason Here is there error I get: Unable to sort \\nas1\media\tv\Series\Gilligan's Island\Gilligan's Island S01E08 Goodbye Island.ts because target path could not be determined. OK Unable to sort \\nas1\media\tv\Series\Gilligan's Island\Gilligan's Island S01E08 Goodbye Island.ts because target path could not be determined. I have attached the full log but I believe the problem is here: 2016-02-21 09:47:33.7061 Warn App: No provider metadata found for season 1 episode 8 I was running the previous version of Emby and when the server notified me that there was an update to version 3.0.5871.0 and I let it do the update. No problems noticed. Later that day I decided to run Emby as a service, and that worked fine. The some recordings kicked off and I noticed the auto organize problem. I assumed because the target path could not be determined that I had a permissions problem running as a service. Undid that, no change. Then I decided it must have been the update DB conversion or similar and removed all traces of emby with uninstall. Reinstalled fresh, with default setting except for paths etc. Same result. I am guessing the new version defaults are pointing to something different than they used to and I don't have a clue how to fix that. Recordings are done using Emby TV and HDhome run, which is working pretty darn good. Any help would be appreciated. Luke 42080 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 have you turned off any metadata settings?
mc2000 3 Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 After installation , Configure Emby, Metadata, I checked the boxes for download artwork and metdata, and save artwork. Under Livetv , settings, I checked download metadata for TV movies and enabled auto-organize.
Luke 42080 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 ok, see if the issue occurs with other recordings
mc2000 3 Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 It does, I have been working on this 2 days. I had the previous version of emby recording to my NAS, so there were existing tv shows and that worked. After the upgrade I was using the same folder and the previous ones now present the error. I then deleted all and set everything up from scratch, allowing emby to create the series folder on its own and tests on everything I have recorded all act the same.
softworkz 5068 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 This is a known bug. It occurs if a series cannot be found in the library. The error message is misleading. I'll submit a fix for it!
mc2000 3 Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 Agreed the error message can lead you down the wrong path, however that is somewhat cosmetic in nature. My problem is auto organize is broken for all TV recoded shows. Seems to work fine for downloaded movies.
softworkz 5068 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 No, there is a bug that needs to be fixed, it's not only the message.
softworkz 5068 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Here's some more details about this bug: Problem was in EpisodeFileOrganizer.GetMatchingSeries That method returned 'new Series()' (= an empty series object) when it couldn't find a matching series in the library Instead it must return null to stop any further processing But with the empty series object, a remote provider query was executed (in GetNewPath), and that's why the "no provider metadata" message was logged I just submitted a fix and hope it will be included soon.
softworkz 5068 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) It's basically fixed in the dev and beta branches. But there is another (not yet fixed) bug that will probably affect you: When you upgrade to a fixed version and re-run auto-organize, you probably won't see any change: Clicking on the red entries in the auto-organize log will still show the "old" error messages. Only the server log files will tell you the truth... I hope that this bug will be fixed as well. Edited February 23, 2016 by softworkz
