Jack Burton 98 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 OK, this one's weird. I'm running Jarvis RC3 and Emby for Kodi 2.2.2. Lately I've been having a few issues with new tv shows updating in Kodi. Generally refreshing or changing artwork in Emby forces the update, not a huge deal. Anyway, something weird happened today. I noticed in my new episodes list the tv show "Betas" showed up as new but with no naming conventions, just s01e01dvdrip etc(it's an older show, and I've had it for quite a while). Rescanned the season (1) through Emby auto organize, and saw I didn't have a season 1 folder for the show in my local files, so maybe that messed something up. Whatever, it seemed to fix it, and renamed the episodes correctly. Now, I noticed a new episode of Dr.Ken (don't judge ) never added to Kodi, though it shows up in Emby. Try refreshing the Dr. Ken episode in Emby, and nothing. Then noticed in Kodi in new episodes, there's an episode called Betas - 1x15 - The Wedding Sitter (there's only 11 episodes of Betas). 1x15 is the Dr.Ken episode number and "The Wedding Sitter" is the episode name. The synopsis is for Dr. Ken, and the cover art is for Dr. Ken, but all other art is for Betas. In the Kodi library, the weirdly named episode is under season 1 of Betas, and no episode 15 in Dr. Ken. I then noticed Betas 1x01 is missing, so it seems something messed up and used the Dr. Ken episode as a Betas one. Fair enough. Refreshed Betas 1x01 in Emby, and now Betas season 1 in the Kodi library is right, 11 episodes, all named correctly. Still no Dr. Ken episode. Refreshed Dr. Ken 1x15 to fix it all up and.... it's in Kodi as Betas 1x15 - The Wedding Sitter again, and Betas 1x01 is gone. Playing Betas 1x15 - The Wedding Sitter actually plays Betas 1x01, so it's definitely connecting to the Betas file, but has the naming convention for the Dr. Ken episode (except for the show name). I tried both files separately in another player and each file is correct. Currently, I refreshed Betas 1x01 to at least have that show all good, but I still don't have Dr. Ken 1x15 in my Kodi library. Not sure what to try next aside from resyncing the whole library, which I don't really want to do. Thoughts?
Angelblue05 4132 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) The way emby works is it add new content, kodi receives the server message so it adds the entries too (they are usually not complete entries at this point). Then once emby is done adding new stuff, it then downloads the metadata and artwork for them. Kodi receives content update, which updates the newly added entries with the new metadata and artwork. If you add many episodes at once to emby, then you just need to be more patient. Otherwise if you see that it stays the same way for an enormous amount of time, post your Kodi log. Make sure the add-on log level is set to info. Try doing a refresh in emby, wait a minute or two and grab the Kodi log. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited February 20, 2016 by Angelblue05

Too much going on at one time. Finally got it fixed up, but for awhile there it looked like both episodes couldn't exist at the same time
Angelblue05 4132 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 If you see it happen again, post your kodi log that capture the events. This way we can see what's happening when adding the episodes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
