mc2000 3 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I believe it has been discussed that the Fire TV app will be updated at some point. Emby is great, so many different APP options make it 10 foot flexible for sure. My main App is Fire TV, and unfortunately it is not as fully featured as the web app or android app. Here is what I see: - interface is OK, but not as professional looking as Anrdoid. OK, but Android is really nice. - No search in the live TV guide. Nearly impossible to schedule a TV show recording that airs next week. - no menu options for scheduled shows like in Android. It seems to work very well but having some more polish would be very nice. Is there a schedule for updating the App? Thanks, Mike
ebr 16169 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 - interface is OK, but not as professional looking as Anrdoid. OK, but Android is really nice. Can you give me an example? This interface is designed differently because it is a different kind of device and operated in a different manner (remote vs. touch). We consistently get very good feedback for the interface of this app. - no menu options for scheduled shows like in Android. What options are you looking for? Is there a schedule for updating the App? We are continually improving all of our apps but don't publish any kind of schedule. Thanks.
kjacques1 3 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I second the OP's point for "No search in the live TV guide. Nearly impossible to schedule a TV show recording that airs next week" My guide is only showing the next 6 hours on Fire TV whereas on my android phone I can see the next two weeks. I have to schedule all of my recordings on my phone. 1

ebr 16169 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Being able to search within the guide interface itself, or page out to different days is on the list of enhancements. Search in general for programs to be able to setup a recording is already there. Just go to the search icon on the home screen and type in part of the name of the program and one of the lines of results will be live TV going out as far as your guide data. 2
mc2000 3 Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 Can't believe I did not see the search button. It works! This app is not fully featured as the android app. Would it be easier to add non touch screen support to the android app so we could just sideload it?
MrWebsmith 598 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 if you prefer the android app over this, then keep using that one...?? variety is good and while your opinion is one way... i believe that the UI of this app is "better" for my tastes then the android app which is highly the same look i get out of just using the mobile chrome browser... to each their own is a great part of this community. no need to make everyone fit into 1 app's mold.
mc2000 3 Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 OK, since a search button eluded me and now found, is the a menu to view the recording schedule and delete if needed?
ebr 16169 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 If you go into the recordings screen, it will show you items that are scheduled and you can open them and click the red dots to cancel them.
mc2000 3 Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 I don't seem to have that menu item. I have: Search Continue Watching On now Latest Recordings Latest Movies Settings I do have recording scheduled, they show up in web interface or android.
ebr 16169 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 You also have a Library row, right? On the Library row, there is a "Live TV" option. You can get to your recordings in there. Or, the very first tile on the "Latest Recordings" row will also take you to the recordings screen - which will show you scheduled recordings on it.
