Before all the updates I was able to watch mkv.videos on my Xbox360 using Emby.

Now they don't play and it keeps saying there's a playback error.

My server is set to auto update, so I don't know when this all started.

It is not likely this is related to the server in any way - unless you don't have path substitution or your library setup such that your WMC host machine can directly access the media.

 

the 360 has never officially supported mkv although some folks have been able to tweak things enough to make it work.

Using shark007 I was able to get my 360 to play mkv files natively. But I would like to solve the issue with emby playing them.
