Xtalfusion 0 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Hello, It seems that Malwarebytes on my phone dectect Emby as an Trojan. (Trojan.SMS.Chismes) I have deleted Emby from my phone and downloaded it again from the playstore. But again MalwareBytes says it is a Trojan. Is this a False Positive? Greetings Xtal
thecommongeek 0 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I just encountered the same issue. Why is this being detected as malware?
Latchmor 584 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Have a look at this thread where Kaspersky was not happy then was all of a sudden! http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/31193-kaspersky-heuristics-positive-scan-result/
ebr 16169 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Malware detection works on pattern matching. This is one of the old "1000 monkeys on typewriters" problems. Some random string of bytes in our package happens to match a pattern.
LurchZA 4 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I am getting the same thing on AVG on Samsung. I just ignored it assuming it is a false positive.

Luke 42077 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 MalwareBytes let us know they're fixing this false positive for their next database update. Thanks for reporting. 1
