Best way to map to unraid - user or disk share

Hi,

 

Quick question for anyone storing their movies on unraid

 

Do you map to them in mb3 server using user share?

 

For example

 

\\tower\movies\comedy

 

Where the comedy folder on the unraid may actually span multiple drives

 

Or, in mb3 I can map direct to drive shares

 

\\tower\disk1\comedy

\\tower\disk2\comedy

 

Is one way preferred?

I've always mapped to the user share. Disk shares are too time consuming and they change as you add disks to the server. I don't see any benefit of using disk shares either.

I agree, I map mine to the user share so my "Films BD" Folder spans  multiple disks on my array

Thanks. I thoughts read somewhere that working with disk shares was faster ( write or read speed?)
