General basic emby questions

I have been reading about live tv and I'm a little confused,  Right now i have a unraid plex server i am working on replace my plex server (pc),, I am thinking about using homerun which seems to be the easiest to set up.,  my main question is how do i get the content (livetv) to my 4 other windows 10 pc's? how many stream can i use at once ?  Also have apple phones and tables,

Hi, welcome. You can setup your HDHomerun with Emby Server, then the Emby apps can stream using the server. Does that answer your question?

Yes sort of !! . I am getting hung up on the word apps. To me apps are for mobile devices, not pc..  When i was reading about live tv it mentioned using windows media center, then i read about if you have window 10 download emby theater?  Is there any video out  to show how it integrates, works and looks?

(Aside from the server). So we have mobile apps for the major devices, apps for set top tv boxes, apps for the HTPC, etc.

That will depend on the power of the PC you have the Emby server on and whether or not you're using any of the Apps on devices that can take the stream without the Server having to transcode the stream. 

 

Right now I have an AMD 8 core cpu and I can stream about 4 at a time without difficulty, especially if I am streaming to my Nvidia Shield which can stream it without transcoding.

 

EDIT: After re-reading your question I am not sure if I am answering what you're asking - if you have a 3 tuner device you can only stream as many streams as tuners that you have. I have 2 devices with a total of 5 tuners.

Thanks you , I am real interested in live TV aspect of emby! I think you answered it , I can only pull live TV streams for as many tuners present! Same as in mce , I was hoping that was not the case and there was a work around,
